Challenge

Part 3: Challenge (Christian Action)

Daily

Parish

Community

Objective

To live one’s life in a Christian manner, spreading the Gospel of Christ in both word and deed.

Become involved in a meaningful way (as determined by the confirmand) in the parish.

To not be afraid to discuss the faith with friends and the wider community.

If time permits for the confirmand, they are encouraged to become involved in greater community service.

How it Relates to Confirmation

To realize that one cannot separate the Gospel of Christ from how we live daily, in the way we treat others and ourselves.

To realize that it is impossible to be a Christian in isolation, that it is through praying together, building each other, and sharing our common experiences at the Parish and through the Sacraments that we can live a true life of Faith.

Being a Christian does not mean being a passive player in our community and world. Christ calls us to action to transform the world and to share the Gospel with all communities, peoples, and nations.
